Last-minute Tips to Get Healthy Glowing Skin

Daylight savings is here which means Summer is getting closer and it's time to come out of hibernation and start prepping ourselves as best as we can. During the cooler months our skin tends to dry up, which makes sense if you think about it, as we have been deprived of vitamin D. We have a few tips you can start doing now in preparation for sunny days.

Start scrubbing

Exfoliating is something we should really try to practice most days, but let's face it, it takes time and can be annoying. However, it's time to start now, if you want your skin looking silky smooth and bump-free. Between the cold wintery months and the air outside to the dry heating inside, your skin cells have dehydrated a lot over winter. Scrubbing these dead cells away by using a loofah or an exfoliating cleanser.

Nourish

Preventing your skin to get dry after you’ve done all this work on exfoliating, it is important that you spend the time to moisturize daily. As soon as you jump out of the shower, try applying coconut oil, as it will absorb better when your skin is a little warm/damp.

Re-vamp your skincare routine

Summer skin is a different thing to winter skin, as we spoke about earlier, your skin is much dryer in winter, meaning it will need more on it to keep it hydrated. We recommend to use something a little lighter on your skin and apply SPF every day to avoid looking like a dried up prune.

IPL

How do you remove unwanted hair? Have you ever considered IPL? Unlike short-term hair removal methods, for example; shaving, creams or waxing, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), is a modern type of hair removal used for permanent/long term. The light energy from IPL is absorbed by the melanin in the hair, which then turns into heat and destroys the hair cells. At-home kits are now becoming popular which means you can get rid of hair you don't want in the comfort of your own home.

Detox

With the summery fruit becoming more available, why not take this time to do a detox. Fill your body with fruits and vegetables that will nourish your body and your skin. When we say detox, we don't mean depriving yourself of food for a week. We mean, nourish yourself, look after yourself. It may be adding a scoop of greens to your morning smoothie or some healthy bacteria to help your gut and digestion to get rid of that winter bloat.
