How to Get Your Skin Prepped for Summer
Spring has sprung and it's time to get out of hibernation and give our skin some TLC. The cooler months can make our skin dry and dull, it's understandable too, as it's been deprived of vitamin D and suffered cold harsh winds. We have rounded up the best treatments you should be doing now to get your skin ready for Summer!
Exfoliating is a great first step to prepare your skin after the colder months. Between the cold air outside and the dry heating inside, your skin cells tend to dehydrate a lot and die out much faster in Winter. Buffing away at these dead cells by using an exfoliating cleanser, facial cloth or dry bush is a great way to replenish your skin. Well and Good has a great article on how to dry brush.
Drinking 2-3L of water every day is a must! Consuming this amount of water every day will help your skin look more youthful and glowy. It also helps maintain optimal body temperature, keeping your skin moist and increasing the skin tissue leading to an increase in the skin elasticity. If you find it hard to drink water then try adding some lemon or even some chia seeds, which is also great for digestion.
Get a tan
Banish your pasty white skin and add some glow. Fake tanning is a great way to fake your tan (pun intended). Whether you’re hoping to save your skin from harmful UV rays, or just looking to get a bit more of a glow in your life, fake tanning is the way to go! There are plenty of brands that not only tan your skin but moisturises it at the same time, meaning you can dig your favourite mini skirt and wear it with confidence!
How do you remove unwanted hair? Have you ever considered IPL? Unlike short-term hair removal methods, for example; shaving, creams or waxing, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), is a modern type of hair removal used for permanent/long term hair removal. The light energy from IPL is absorbed by the melanin in the hair, which then turns into heat and destroys the hair cells. At home kits are now becoming popular which means you can get rid of the hair you don't want in the comfort of your own home.
